Update

Emilia (605 g): She is doing well and has managed to stay off her respirator.  She has needed a bit of help now and then but that is to be expected.  They checked her for an infection and saw that she had started to get one.  They have managed to catch it early and have put her on a course of antibiotics.  Depending on what happens with the infection she may need to go back on the respirator.

We looked after her just before we left today, changed her nappy etc!  We told her all about the cabin and she was making little piglet noises.  It was the cutest and sweetest thing I have ever heard.

Eva (they did not weigh her): When we arrived today they were re-fitting her breathing tube which is the reason they did not weigh her (so she could rest).  They moved it half a cm and she feels better for it.  Her ductus valve had closed a little bit more so there is still no decision about whether she needs the operation or not.  Fingers crossed it is closed tomorrow.

Eva was also tested for an infection, and she tested negative.  The Dr felt thought that something could be on its way so as a precautionary measure she has been given the same antibiotics as Emilia.

We are both feeling positive and looking forward to reaching the 1 week mark tomorrow!

  2. Hej Paula..
